AUDITION INFORMATION
Students will be asked to perform two contrasting selections from classical music repertoire, either solos or etudes; major scales through three sharps and three flats (two octaves where possible); a two-octave chromatic scale; and sight-reading. Feel free to contact Dr. Swisher if you have questions about your audition selections.
Audition dates for the 20010-11 school year are: Feb 20th, Feb 24th.
If you plan to attend our Quad State Festival, I would suggest that you NOT audition during that time (Feb 24th). This may require a second trip, but I have seen many trumpet players come into their Music Scholarship audition straight from the Quad State Festival with sore and swollen chops. For those people attending the festival, I would recommend that you audition on Feb 20th.
Once you have mailed in your Department of Music Applicaion (see the Admissions checklist tab), our secretary will call you to confirm your audition time and date.
